This page explains the cookies and similar storage technologies used by bloodtide.io. The short version: we don't track you. We use no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics cookies, and no cross-site identifiers.
Cloudflare, the network in front of the site, may set a single strictly-necessary security cookie called __cf_bm. It exists to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated bots and to keep the site available. It expires within 30 minutes of inactivity and contains no advertising data. Blocking it can break the site.
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count aggregate page views. It is cookieless: no identifier is stored in your browser, and no individual session can be reconstructed from it. You can still opt out from the privacy settings panel inside the game; that flag is stored in your browser's localStorage and causes the analytics beacon not to be loaded on subsequent visits.
The game uses your browser's localStorage to remember:
None of this leaves your browser. To clear it, you can either:
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, prior consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary, or for storage with similar privacy implications. Because Bloodtide does not set any non-essential cookies and does not use cross-site tracking, the consent banner most sites show is not required here. The aggregate analytics is cookieless and you can opt out at any time from the privacy settings panel.
If we ever introduce non-essential cookies (e.g. for an account system or for ads), this policy will be updated, the changelog below will note the change, and an in-game consent prompt will appear before any such cookie is set.
